Reconciliation Action Plan

Since commencing our first Reconciliation Action Plan in late 2024, East Wanneroo Primary School has continued to strengthen its commitment to reconciliation through meaningful action. We proudly continue our annual whole-school Reconciliation Week march and were honoured to welcome Aboriginal Elder, Uncle Frank, to speak with students and staff during NAIDOC Week 2025, alongside Sharon Wood-Kenney, a long-standing supporter of our school’s reconciliation journey. In 2025, we also established a commemorative NAIDOC garden and unveiled our PBS Values Poles created by Noongar artist Mel Spillman (Woods) of Maarakool Art. Our learning spaces have been renamed using Noongar language, and Noongar has been successfully implemented as our official LOTE language, with language now visible and used authentically across the school. Guided by our RAP Advisory Committee and Kadjan Waangkiny Committee—led by First Nations staff, parents and community members and supported by non-Indigenous allies—we continue working towards a culturally responsive and culturally safe school community.
